UC Davis Design Museum: Bags Across the Globe

The "Bags Across the Globe: Designing to Reduce Waste" exhibit at the UC Davis Design Museum is intended to bring attention to the environmental damage caused by single-use plastic shopping bags and textile waste, and to promote the use of reusable cloth bags. The exhibit features a giant "Tornado of Bags" and tells the story of how people in 63 different countries are raising awareness of the environmental damage and animal deaths caused by plastic shopping bags.  The exhibit also features student-designed bags created out of found materials.

Here is a local news story with an interview with the exhibit director.
